Hopefully removing some of the cruft from svn status will encourage changes to be checked back in (hint!)

The old server appears to have disappeared, so
the query has been updated to make authenticated
requests against the new server.

...that prevented sensible error message being displayed if you try and signup a new member who has already completed the signup process

Similar fixes need to be handled in the susignup component
