"Exclude from set" seems to be ignored

Description

I don't know whether it is possible to exclude whole directories. (It should be, f.e. I want to backup /home/<me> but not /home/<me>/tmp) But even to exclude a special file seems to be ignored at all.

concretely: I want a file not to be backuped, for it is not readably by my user. After "Analysing backup source" -> "Some files in the backup set are missing or not readable by your user."

I am running pybackpack 0.5.1 on fedora 7.

I have the same problem with pybackpack 0.5.1 on ubuntu 7.10 (gutsy). This makes pybackup unusable for me.
