| #38 | pybackpack allows destination (for local backup) to be added to backup set | gui | Stable | defect | minor | 29/11/06 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

pybackpack allows you to add the backup destination to a backup set. pybackpack seems to do the right thing (ignore this directory during the backup), but it should emit a warning when (or even disallow the action) a backup set includes the destination. |

| #42 | Unsuitable focus on "Forward" button | gui | Stable | defect | minor | 24/01/07 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

(I'm using RHEL 5 beta 2.) In Process of creating new backup set, step "Add Files/Folders to ...", There is a location bar which I could enter some path like /var/www and except the navigation to navigate to that path. But when I enter the path and press "Enter" key, Forward is clicked and some unexpected event occurred. |

| #55 | allow user to choose where restored files are saved | gui | New Features | enhancement | minor | 23/08/07 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
The restore location is currently hard-coded to to the user's home folder + "restored_files" + the name of the backup set. It would be nice if this was configurable. |

| #61 | Don't write image to disk before burning | backend | New Features | enhancement | minor | 01/01/08 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
|
This is a tracker ticket for this enhancement. Once pybackpack is using cdrecord/wodim instead of nautilus-cd-burner, it could pipe the genisoimage output straight into wodim instead of writing an iso file and then burning it. |

| #68 | commandline parameters would be great (e.g. for operations after pluggin in usb hard disk) | backend | New Features | enhancement | normal | 16/09/08 | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

At first great tool. It is actually the first Linux backup program I have found which has a progress bar and is working/maintained. I am planning to add a script which starts a gui backup when a special usb drive is connected. To do this pybackpack needs some command line parameters to choose the profile and start backup or something like that. This isn't needed of course if pybackpack would stay in tray and could do a similar thing ;) . Btw. I wouldn't make a cron service out of it. There are enough tools out there for operations like that e.g. sbackup or similar. I think it is the advantage of pybackpack that it is run in userspace with a progress bar, status messages and no needed root password. An autostart entry with systray functionality would be great of course but no cron/backend/server thing imho. |
